Built by people who have worked the story.
CrewNetwork is an independent hiring desk connecting international broadcasters and production companies with vetted local freelance crew in more than 100 countries.
Why we exist
Booking a fixer or a camera operator abroad still runs on private phonebooks. We turn that into an open, searchable roster so a newsroom can staff a story in hours, not days.
Who we are
A small team from the broadcast and news production world — people who have been on the ground as crew, fixers and producers, and know what a good booking looks like from both sides.
How we work
Free to join, free to post. No commission on your day rate. Profiles are ID-checked before verification, and rates stay private until you share them.
Crew set their own rates. We never take a cut of the job.
The right fixer knows the street, the permit and the risk. That is the product.
Hostile-environment experience and licences are on the profile, not an afterthought.
I founded CrewNetwork after more than three decades on the ground. I've worked as a cameraman since 1992, and as an international news cameraman and producer since 1995 — 3.5 years with Reuters TV, 14 years with APTN, covering stories across the globe, often in conflict zones. Over the years, the same problem kept coming up: finding the right crew, in the right place, at the right time. CrewNetwork was built to solve exactly that — a platform made by someone from the field, for the people working in it.
Hiring for a story, or looking to be hired? Both take a minute.
